This volume might be a more than suitable for somebody with heavier business studies
This book had some interesting points but for my sense of taste was a fleck too "light" to read. The writer did say in the outset that instead of going deep into theory and psychology he'd outline the things that work and get out the theory to others. I still feel that the volume would take needed a bit heavier base of operations of theory of the subject instead of just us having to trust the writers word near why things work the way they work. This book might exist a more suitable for somebody with heavier business studies/experience background but for me who was mainly interested of the usage, detection and prevention of hostile manipulation and persuasion attempts in a security contex this volume was a flake of a dissapointment. Then once more I think I wasn't exactly the intended audience either.

I picked upward the audio version of this book from the library, and if it weren't for the format, I don't call up I would've finished it. Audio books are absolute clutch for commutes (fifty-fifty if they're by bike). This is definitely geared towards people in sales, which I am not, and while y'all tin certainly extrapolate the techniques he speaks about and apply them to your daily life, I'd much rather read nearly them in that direct context. Additionally, this particular book is meant as a very practical guide that doesn't go into whatsoever of the theory, and I'chiliad very interested in the theory. Actually, this just made me desire to read Influence (Cialdini) a chip more.

For example, one concept was that if you say things in a conversation that generate curiosity in the other person, so you become far more persuasive. Ok, not bad thought... merely what does that await like in an bodily chat? No idea...

The book is written in a more psycho-sociological genre than similar books on the topic -- they speaking a terminology such as "outside the box, changing the paradigm"' and similar mantras of the illiterarti. This book is written for the practioner, the speaker, and anyone else who wants to know the difference between persuasion and manipulation and how to practice and detect one over the other. It is written in quite an accesable mode. You volition get the point. It may stay with yous.If anyone read a marketing book past Dr. Philip Kotler, one can see what sets him apart from a number of others who write marketing books. Although a different topic, the author of Persuasion is in Kottler's league.

In this audiobook, Dave Lakhani sets out to show you how to persuade others, which can either be done ethically or in a manipulative way. The cloth he shares accords with other books I've read on the discipline. If you're looking for the scientific basis of why these principles piece of work, I would advise you consult the books by Robert Cialdini. It's not the author's intent to comprehend the scientific discipline behind persuasion, but because he doesn't do so it ironically makes his book less persuasive. This audiobook is part of the Coach in a Box series, and my decision is that it would be best to use this audiobook with a real alive coach (e.chiliad., in a workshop or a grade). Y'all need the interaction with the coach and others to use these ideas.

Much of what is in this book is helpful for those interested in becoming a more polished professional. It is also very helpful for helping c Very interesting book. I would not have picked it up myself but a friend recommended it. I accept known a couple people who were charismatic & seemed to be able to get anyone to practise/think/feel/believe whatever they wanted them to. Reading this volume helped me completely understand how they were able to control conversations and social interactions so completely.

Although the volume has some useful pointers and interesting facts, information technology's very business organization-oriented and not so much about let's say "general persuasion". Apart from this, the author generally puts himself in a position of "expertise" and doesn't backup many of his claims, which you can only assume he is right virtually only would be much better if supported past pointing out specific studies. All in all, I think information technology might be a expert read if you have already run out of other more essential books (like Cialdini'southward Influence), and are nevertheless looking to learn more about the subject -in a more "pragmatic" kind of way- or your merely concern with the persuasion subject is selling and doing business in general.

This persuasion stuff is fine and corking; I but think in the future, when anybody will exist able to experience each other'south energy patterns and thoughts, we will not demand these types of books anymore.I am eagerly looking forward to the mean solar day when telepathy is the normal mode of communication.
Can't look. Until and so, enjoy the book.
